I’m taking a trip to London on June 16th.
It’s my usual visit to the office. I’m heading to Sutton for an early Father’s Day curry in the evening though, so no London madness this time.

I think they were last spotted in Birmingham. I left in rather a hurry to get my flight to Berlin back in March.
Edit: Obviously these ones aren’t missing. It is their twin brothers who are missing.

Officially unlocked UK iPhone can be tethered using 3.1.3 software update

I’m a very happy boy.
I’ve just upgraded my iPhone 3G to the latest software, version 3.1.3, and now tethering works using my Base DE SIM card.
I was using iPhoneModem, which is ace, but this means I don’t have to jailbreak it again. Now I can use my iPhone as a modem on trains, where I seem to spend most of my days (at least in Germany anyway).
Hurrah! Roll on the sunshine so I can work from the park.

For a long time I’ve been playing around with setting up a website for myself. The form for this website has changed many times over the last few years, except for one constant. I’ve never managed to get it online.
As we’re coming up to a new year, and things are starting to settle down since relocating to Berlin, I thought I would put in some effort and finally get things beyond the planning stage.
Too many hats
Something which has held me back in the past is that I haven’t known what the website should focus on. The Fine Art part of the URL points towards my art practice, but to be honest that has been pretty slow for a while now. Hopefully having somewhere to show off my work and get some feedback will help to change this.
As well as writing about my art, I’ve also had a nagging feeling that I should really be writing about the work I am doing with HTML, CSS and more recently JavaScript. I’m meeting more and more interesting people at conferences and other Internet meetups and the first thing I do when I get home is look for their website or blog. It feels increasingly strange that I don’t have one myself.
Divide and conquer
I have decided that the best way to solve this dilemma and move forward is to split my art practice and web practice into two separate websites. From now on I will write about my art here. This will also be somewhere I can write about my other cultural and creative interests. These could be anything from a design which has caught my eye to a fun day out.
I won’t be ignoring the web development side of things either. I have recently registered the domain http://www.heresonesolution.com and will use that to write about, and join in with, the exciting discussions surrounding HTML5 and CSS3. Over there I’ll also be sharing some of the code I’m playing with as I get my head around JavaScript, in particular a couple of accessible widgets built using WAI-ARIA.
