Hi, and thanks for visiting my website. My name is David Owens and I am an artist and professional web producer living in Brixton, London.
Who I am
I grew up in Birmingham, living in Sutton Coldfield and going to school at King Edward VI Aston School. It was while I was there that I realised I didn’t want to have a proper job and decided to study art. I got a pretty rubbish grade for my art A level, but wasn’t too worried as I had already been offered a place on The Birmingham Institute of Art and Design Foundation Course.
In 1999 I moved to London to study fine art at Goldsmiths College. I had a great time and am still only just realising how much I learnt there. I also met a lovely bunch of people and decided to stay in London. I moved out of New Cross and over to Brixton where I have been ever since. It’s a great place to live with a real community feel. I think I’ll be here for a while.
I learned how to build websites while I was working for Current Medicine Group. I worked on a few fun projects and it was great to be able to work somewhere where I was able to constantly learn new skills. It definitely beat paying for courses myself. As well as my day job, I have started to take on a few freelance projects.
Since October 2007 I have been working at tmg. I’m really enjoying it there too. There have been some interesting challenges and it is great to have the experience I have built up recognised by my colleagues as well as clients.
About this website
I have been building websites since the year 2000. Since starting out by experimenting in my free time, I now work hard to keep up to date with the latest in web design techniques. When I build a website I try to make sure that it will display correctly on a wide range of platforms. I aim to make my websites accessible and uasable. I also try to ensure they are easily readable to search engines. This way as many people as possible can find and use them.
This website is published using Wordpress. It is written with valid XHTML and is styled using a number of stylesheets.
